It's both, really, but the creepiness - the implied-female-mutilation - stood out more than the misogynism. It's one thing to say "I'm a loser who prefers to field only all-male armies." It's something else to say "I'm a creepy loser who mutilates female models in strangely sexualized ways."

Matt Ward's having the Grey Knights kill off the Sisters of Battle was a little mysognist. If he'd had the Grey Knights paint themselves exclusively in blood drawn from their naughty bits, that would be... creepy.
