I've been saying this for a while since the Chapter Tactics rumors first started, these rules are brand new. A month old right now.

Don't let an arbirtrary set of rules written down by GW affect how you play your army on the tabletop. You can write their fluff as Imperial Fists successors, and then use Salamanders fluff on the table if you want to.

True. Not like I am planning on using any of the special characters, so not like I need to use the correct CTs for them.

Cheers much for the feedback folks. Quick question; do you all want to see some step-by-step pics of the assault squad (some of which are all ready on my flickr feed) or are you happy just to wait on the finished models?

Well, bit late for a step-by-step. Kinda got carried away after getting a bit peeved about job hunting. On the bright side, they are nearly done. Just a little bit on the metallics and the fleshy bits need doing now. Update will come soon, once I have some half decent light to take photos.

Hey Folks! Long time no see. Not on this thread at least. There is a good reason for that; my camera is dead and I cannot find the charger for it. And by cannot find, I mean I have literally taken everything out of my room several times and kept my o=eye out for it over the past three months and it's gone...

SO how about a quick update with some really low quality teaser shots from my phone's camera?

    The Drop Pod assault squad are... in the exact same state as my last post, with the exception of the helmetless heads are painted. Several of them have come off their bases, so have been restuck and some times pinned in place. Here's the squad as a whole;

I've also started refurbishing the second assault squad. The models have been stripped and rebuilt. they are far from perfect, but I've managed to get some interesting poses out of them and hopefully once they've been undercoated you won't really be able to tell how badly they were damaged before.

Hopefully I'll get my camera up and running again soon so I can get some better pics, not to mention I wanted to get the first assault squad properly finished!

    Default A Second Completed Squad!

Hey folks! I have actually managed to get my brushes out and get some detail work done on my Assault Squad!

And by that, I of course mean that I 'finished' them, took the photos and then realised all the bits I missed.

So here's some pictures of the 'finished' models. Who can spot the mistakes?

There are a TON more pics up on my Flickr stream, including in-focus photos of every model in the squad (u=from multiple angles, you lucky lucky things).

Every model has a Roman numeral 8, mostly on the top edge of their left shoulder guard, and a Codex Astartes Assault Cross somewhere on the model, mostly either the left shoulder guard or the left knee. I've also added a few other bits of detail, and a certain amount of variation in to the details I've all ready mentioned.

I'll also be doing a more detailed post on my blog, Ex instinctu Imperator (link in my signature) so keep an ear out for that. Right now I have to brave the harsh British Winter to get some take out food.

Aaaaaaand because I'm feeling generous, a few close up shots of the other assault squad (very early WIP, of course)

From top to bottom, a Marine identified as potential future Techmarine, one of the squads weapon specialists (one of the more veteran members of the squad), one of the more tooled up specialists, and finally the Veteran Sergeant (bedecked with honours, as you might expect!)

Shades like the poses, the detail work is epic as well. Not 100% on the rising flamejob - its a bit pimp my ride for my liking, but appreciating the skills.
I'M RATHER DEFINATELY SURE FEMALE SPACE MARINES DEFINERTLEY DON'T EXIST.
