    Default riptide question

I recently bought and built a riptide. I was not happy with the head that come with it so I was looking at using a different head. this is the only one I found that seemed right. what do you guys think? Does it look good or should I just go with the tiny head look.

Well I don't know how tau a zaku head is, but it does look pretty cool.
You got my vote for this.
fills in the proportions of the riptide well.

It does fit the proportions well. I was put off by the tiny head myself but I guess it is technically more of a sensor then a head. I use the spare riptide heads on crisis suits...

I dig it. It's different, but in a good way. The riptide head sucks, lol.

I think it's a good fit, but I would loose the armoured piping along the sides of the head unit. They make me think of imperial designs being somewhat reminiscent of the new Centurion helmets and the cabling on Terminators. But I think it would look more Tau without them, then perhaps find some appropriate bits to make some antenna/sensor vanes to attach to the sides or something.

Go nuts, but remember; dry fit, dry fit, dry fit and play with blu-tac

    Looking forward to updates

I will be honest, I don't like it. For me it just doesn't match the tau aesthetic at all. I'm one of those with bad taste that actually likes the Riptide head options straight out of the box, and depending on your colour choice of armour and if you choose to paint the head an alternate colour, that alone I think can lift the proportions of the head. I also like the way the small head helps give the Riptide it's rather hulking, menacing appearance.

But that said, it's your model and seeing something done differently is always fun and interesting. But why not do a dry fit to both this head of yours and a tau one. Paint them both preferable and then make your decision.

Good luck with your Riptide mate
