    Default warplock jezzails

Do you use them, and if so, how many do you use?

There are better choices than jezzails. For the points cost you are better taking a warp-lightning cannon. If you already have the max of those and still want ranged attacks then use Doomwheels or multiple small units of Gutter Runners with Poisoned Attacks and Slings.

Why aren't jezzails all that great? Well, for 100 points you get 5 jezzails. At BS3 this means that on most turns you'll be lucky to hit with 2 shots. If it has a ward save or a 1/2+ armor save.. then they stand a decent chance of saving at least one of those. The biggest factor? Leadership 5 and no way of boosting this outside of a general's inspiring presence. A stiff fart in the wind will cause these guys to scatter like little children.

So they aren't "bad" necessarily... just incredibly overcosted. If they were 12ish points... they'd be worth it.

If you are going to take them... take multiple small units over large units. There is no reason to take large units of these unless you like risking all of those points running off the board.
