Has anyone heard about this internet drama where a female developer has been sleeping with numerous games journalists and coincidently then received good reviews for what by many accounts is a pretty ****ty game?
And doxxed? her bf when they broke up over it?

It's first time I've ever heard of anything like it. I mean there's always the suggestion publishers give "freebies" to reviewers but I've never heard of anything like this.

I've seen female developers get accused of that a lot by sexist little ****bags online, never had an actual case happen to my knowledge.

I can believe that, not that I pay enough attention to have seen it before. But this seems to be bigger than the sort of throwaway nastiness in the comments section of a website.

Seems like the usual allegations. Honestly the whole game media industry is a giant old boys network, its really rich to get high and mighty about allegations a woman is sleeping with developers to get good reviews like that is worse than bribery and general corruption. Plus as the article says any media outlet dumb enough to do so deserves whatever happens to it.

I'm sceptical though, 4chan has had it in for this game since it was announced along with miscellaneous other ****stains so the fact it is the developer of that game that is having these accusations leveled at her makes me very suspicious.

More specifically: his multiple blog posts on their failed relationship where he accuses Quinn of sleeping with various prominent figures in the video game industry, including a writer at Kotaku.

It is here that the harassment campaign—which includes sharing her personal information, defamatory YouTube videos, and weird phone calls to her parents—tries to bill itself as justified: exposing corruption in video game journalism. Gamers have been complaining about corruption in video game journalism for years now (googling "video game journalism corruption" yields 870,000 results, to give you an idea) and the Quinn/ Kotaku writer connection was seen as more proof of just how bad video game journalism has gotten.

Except, the Kotaku writer in question never actually wrote said favorable review about Quinn's game.

I know, but there is just no need for it. there is the armoured Samus version, the Zero Suit version, why exactly add a scantily clad version? we don't see Mario in his off duty boxer shorts. the only reason for Samus in civilian gear is for male titillation.
