picked up Bloodborne today not having really played a Dark Souls before. so far it is quite interesting, character looks cool, weapons are cool. I have a sword whip and a blunderbuss. problems, it explains virtually nothing. I know it paints itself as a hardcore, tough as nails experience, but seriously, if you tell your players nothing, you are just driving people away who might otherwise have enjoyed it and supported you. there is an article on IGN encouraging people to persevere through an incredibly difficult first hour and it starts to get rewarding. no game should require putting up with for an hour in the hopes that it gets good. having some sort of tutorial would in no way cramp their style.I am moving around ok, killed quite a few weird looking dudes. no idea why, they are just there and attacking me. but I don't know where I am, where I am going to, why, or what I am supposed to do when I get there. so there is virtually no incentive to keep playing, aside from the real world money you spent on the game. you can't pause the game, even when playing offline, which is a major **** up for any game, and I have no idea how you save the game, so I just had to turn it off and hope it has autosaved.
