I know this is totally low-tech and completely behind the curve... but does anyone else here play FTL? I was introduced to this fun, but brutally addictive ******* of a game last night by a so-called "friend" and now I can't stop playing it. Anyone got any pointers?

I did a good stint when it came out. It's addictive but I never managed to kill the boss.
Invest in sheilds and try and get a high numbered laser cannon. also fire manually not automatically so you can time your shots for maximum advantage.
I wish they did a pursuit mode where you just kept going as long as you were able rather than the boss thing.

Yeah I liked Pharaoh a lot. I'd just prefer a system like Banished where anyone can do any job regardless of gender because, you know, it isn't the 1840s anymore.

I got banished once. And then thrown in a dungeon in the place I was banished to.

Yeah, a pursuit mode would be interesting...

I don't mind never winning. I've been hunting Morgoth (playing Moria, then Angband) for the last twenty freaking years and I still haven't beaten it.

Phfft. People who play this new-fangled "Dark Souls" thing think they've got it bad...

Brilliant game, though buggy as hell is now £3/US$5 on Amazon. If you don't have it, buy it, buy it now.

Then install it, but don't play it first install the fan made patch pushing it up to version 9.0.

This was a great game by Troika, though it was released with no polish These fan made patches have been restoring content and unfinished items. Then on top of that improved textures and sounds.

All exciting, time to re-install and enjoy the embrace.

They should make this official DLC, render the characters better and I will buy the hell out of all of it.

Theres probably more likely a L4D2 skin? And possibly a voice set?
