The squats are by far my favourite 40k race and i asnt old enough to see them when they were a playable army. Using the imperial guard codex and taling inspiration from codex imperialis, 40k compendium, tinternet and other hobbyists. I have slightly expanded on the background ie some of the survivors being returning squats, coming from guard regiments they were attatched to, thus the midget cadians.

Big fan of all the smaller (no pun intended) races in the 40K background and universe. Sure they may be Dwarves in space, but I've always had a soft spot for them. Must be all their wacky tech stuff and even a few chaos / mutant sculpts.

You've got some really cool stuff going there, love the basilisk conversion! The cadian/squat combo also seems to be working out quite well, heck even the WHFB dudes with 40K weaponry look ace. Though you may want to add one or two extra bits of tech stuff to a couple of them, just to take them one step further from being WHFB minis with 40K guys. I'm definitly keeping my eye on this one!

Just going through some of the unrealesed GW mini posted up by Kitiara and came across a little something that might give you some extra inspiration:



Creating a similar helmet and boots would be relatively simple, but would give an amazing result.

a few of the whfb guys have cadian helmets, grenades etc. but i need to get pics of them and of the painted guys (MARPAT woodland kinda thing). that is a great model!
