    Default Warhammer 40k 7th ed?

    40k 7th ed is slated for 2014 with fantasy 9th being scrapped for the time being. Apparently the source is the one that has been leaking them the info on SM and their other highly reliable previous rumours......

    The next edition of 40k will be called 7th, not 6.5 when it drops, but as far as rules go it will be less of a jump than 5th to 6th.

    The key areas being updated:
    Interceptor, sky fire, fortifications, lords of war, allies and data slates.

    As for its release it'll probably be September not "the summer."

    It's not finished yet, still being tested so anything can happen.

    The thought behind this edition is to make the game less alpha strike explosive and more "competitive" at all points values (even when including Lords of War), but D weapons outside of apocalypse may see alternate rules.

    Warhammer 7th Edition is a real thing for 2014.
    1) It will purely be a book release.
    2) It could be released as early as May.
    3) Rulebook with incorporate data slates, escalation, stronghold assault, and some tweaks.

    - 7th 40k edition is only a minor update
    - 40k run is part of the movement phase
    - assault distance is not influenced by terrain, but gives minus two to

    - you can bring as many different allies as you want. You can spend a
    fourth of your points on allies, but they also count as their normal
    category
    - you can bring three allies to a game and must choose one
    - bikes can strike units in 1” in the movement phase without assaulting
    just like chariots, but can attacked back
    - fortification and lords of war rules are in, but no profiles
    - you have to pass a initiative test to shoot overwatching, get minus three
    to ballistic talent
    - you can engage new unit after victory in melee, but enemy can shoot
    overwatch again
    - you can choose to flee if you are charged but can be destroyed
    - if you want to run in 12” of enemy you have to pass a leadertest
    - vehicles get no cover saves against infantry, only against other vehicles

    2 new Force Organizations. ("Battle-Forged" or foc And "Unbound" take whatever) battle forge gives bonuses. New Missions using tactics cards in addition to our current Eternal War Missions, a new "Psychic Phase" of the game, and the full article next week.

    New psychic discipline available to everyone but nids(lol). Psychic phase sounds a lot like fantasy.

    -- So Guys I heard from a pretty reliable source that got to sit down with the book for a few minutes here is what I can remember from what was said.

    1. 4ed consolidate in to combat is in
    2. If you fail to cast a power you can't cast it the rest of the game
    3. Every unit including vehicles will now score
    4. Unbound armies may not contest objectives
    5. Lords of war are in
    6. Escalation and stronghold remain as they are now
    7. Vehicles will be harder to kill the chart changes once more.
    8. The book will come out in 3 options Art like warhammer visions, Fluff book, and one that only contains rules and that one is about as think as the current SM book.
    9.difficult terrain is just -2 inches
    10. Wound allocation has changed a bit.not super clear as to how.
    11. D-weapons toned down but he was unclear as what that meant so from the sounds of it they will still be super ugly. --

    Warhammer 7th Edition: Price: roughly $80
    Edition is presented in a new format, 3 hardcover books in a slipcover. Pagecount of all three is about 450 pages in total:

    The Rulebook: @200 pages, only rules

    The Grimdark: @100 pages - Fluff and history of the Warhammer universe

    The Hobby: @100 pages - Full miniatures and hobby book. All splash pics, and intro to the hobby stuff.

    7th Edition Rules
    W40K 7th regulations , hard cardboard box and includes, to my surprise 3 separate books . No one regulation in three parts, if not three books diferentes.

    One called Galaxy War , and will be a starter guide in hobby.114 pages with lots of photos of painted miniatures, "painting guide and model "etc.

    Another called Dark Millennium will have 128 pages for a wide background section of the game and the new illustrations of the most famous characters.

    Finally, The Rules , including 208 pages ( Tachan! ) Demonology among psychic powers.

    Pricing: Case 65 Euros and second surprise: In Spanish or English!

    Other Products:
    Tactical Objectives: are 36 cards. English game with goals coming out in the regulations ( as was done in 2nd with Millennium Ominous start box and edición.No that is because I am beginning to believe that's out of box AS 7TH Vs Orks .. . .) It costs 6.50 Euros ( Very cheap, no. trusting I keep my birds. )

    Psychic Cards: box with 50 large letters for Psychic Powers has 6 known more psychic disciplines of Demonology for 12 Euros And you can also buy in Spanish or English.

    Psychic tests are no longer leadership tests. You generate your total pool, allocate dice to cast and then roll them. 4+ succeeds. X number of successes are needed to cast the power. 3 successes, for most.

    Certain things can give you a 3+ on the dice, like having an affinity with the discipline. 2 or more 6s you peril. So you can still fail to cast and perils but typically if you got 2 6s you should have passed.

    To stop a power, allocate your warp charge dice and roll deny the witch. 6+ to succeed. 5+ if you have a psyker. +1 if they have a hood. +1 if you're a higher mastery level and nearby the unit being affected. Even powers that do not effect you can be stopped, like blessings.
    Other 7th Edition Stuff 5-14-2014
    Wound allocation is now resolved on a weapon by weapon basis, so for example, no more flamers removing models 2 feet away.

    Snapshots are resolved at -2BS

    The vehicle damage chart has been altered to make vehicles slightly sturdier. They only "explode" on a 7+

    Difficult terrain now reduces the attackers' charge distance by -2 inches.

    Battle-forged Troops have scoring priority over non Troops units. They can claim objectives from non-Troop scoring units!

    Ignore Cover is -2 to the targets's normal cover save
    Other 7th Edition Stuff 5-15-2014
    Snap-Fire
    Taking a Jink save limits you to snap-firing next turn in all cases

    Skyfire restricts the bearer to only snapifire at non-flyers in all cases (full BS vs flyers).

    Allies
    All armies may ally with themselves as Battle Brothers, and Battle Brothers may freely embark into each other's transports.


    Flyers/FMCs
    Only zooming flyers do not score.

    Vector strike hits are now AP2.

    Grounding checks are now based on wounds inflicted.

    The Discipline of Daemonology

    "Unless otherwise noted, all Psykers, other than those belonging in the Tyranids Faction (p.118) can generate powers from the Daemonology Discipline"

    Sanctic Powers

    2. Mental Purge: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. randomly select one power from the psyker. its lost for the rest of the game.
    3. Power Drain: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. if its the psychic phase, both players lose d3 warp charge points
    4. Psychic Backlash: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves.
    5. Empyric Feedback: Psyker takes a leadership test. if failed Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. If passed no effect.
    6. Warp Surge: Psyker takes a leadership test. if failed Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. If passed psyker gains a 3+ invul, fleshbane, armour bane, and smash until the next friendly psychic phase.

    Smash is indeed 1 attack only now. Ostensibly a Daemon Weapon would still boost that.

    You must change flight modes from swoop to glide and wait a turn before charging.

    You may ride in BB transports. Meaning you can still join their units.

    Hit and Run still transfers to the unit. This probably means all of the USR's that currently transfer still do, meaning all death stars still work.

    Allies of Convenience - pretty much unchanged.

    Desperate Allies - Unchanged (stuck on a 1), but I believe they can score now.

    Apocalypse - All the penalties for Convenience and Desperate, but you can't deploy within 12". Ostensibly, they would also score, so in the right combination, this is quite manageable and potent.

    Snapshots and Ignores Cover are unchanged. The -2 thing was wrong. Consolidating into combat was debunked a week ago if you hadn't heard.

    Hardly some random bloke. If your going to comment at least be constructive. 40k radio has been very accurate so far and they're saying this is from the same source. Therefore it should get some consideration

    Eldar and Dark Eldar are *still* Battle Brothers? Frak that. They should have been Allies of Convenience at best and Desperate Allies at worst.
