The mortar is almost complete, I'm pretty happy with the results. The icing on the cake will be some Forge World decals when they arrive for the round casings and pauldrons. This has been weathered with acrylic washes- then sealed, then AK Interactive enamels with pigments/ground chalk pastels and fixative. I'm loving the artillery pieces by Forge World- the attention to detail and the WW1 influence makes for a very nice little piece.

That looks abosulutely brilliant! The positioning of the boards under the trail for the gunners to stand on, looks very convincing to me.
Thank you SirTainly. The ground plates have worked well for another terrain piece I am working on- they are based loosely on the Forge World realm of battle board so should fit nicely with all the Krieg minis and artillery pieces. The blue is quite strong on the figures due to afternoon daylight streaming through the window- in reality they are much greyer. More on the blog... The mortar is really good looking. I like the weathering on the coats, gives the crew that extra realism.
