Hope you can see what I have done as this had to be taken on my phone as my father 'borrowed' my camera.

Basically I have redone the engine on each one and all R2 units are different colours. On Luke's (left of middle) I mixed up a very pale yellow to do his nose cone, wing markings and markings round the engines. I like the stock look but I felt it could do with a little tweak.

Please feel free to tell me if you Don't like them.
I didn't do it. You can't prove i did it. Ok I'm sorry send me the bill.

The yellow on Luke's fuselage looks a bit strong to me in the picture, but I love the rest of it. The engines and astromechs especially are a great detail that doesn't jump out at you when you look over the lot (which I think is a good thing), but still makes them each look distinctive.

The yellow I had originally was almost no different from the hull colour so I tried a bit more yellow. May have gone to far.

I'll get this moved to the proper forum.

This one of the things li like about X-wing. The folks who can't paint leave things as is - but us painters can easily modify atop that flat washed finish the models come in. There are some really great paint jobs out there.

    Also - I dig the painted R2-units

I like the yellow personally, and the Astromech colours add a bit of individuality. I've not attempted to paint mine yet but I can see my airbrush being used on some of those engines.

Nice, any model prep work needed or does the paint go straight on well enough ?
