Officer involved shootings happen daily in the US, but in this case I actually know one of the officers who killed this man. Given the character of that officer (he's an *** who should have never passed a psych evaluation to even carry a weapon) I have very little doubt that this was an unjustified killing.

I also had no doubt prior to their "trial" that nothing would be done, as the justice system is corrupt beyond our imagination. Land of the free my lily white ***.

One of the things that came out during the investigation is that the officers never identified themselves but instead rushed the suspect. The suspect did not fire on the officers and may have not even had the weapon in his hands when he was shot.

Sadly prison seems to fail on both counts. Not scary enough to prevent crime and more likely to teach those incarcerated how to be better criminals.

I have had some mates that have spent time inside for drug related offenses. From their description it is an awful place that no one would ever want to go. Some of the people they were locked up with and the guards were quite horrible. Instead of rehabilitation their record made it next to impossible for them to work after they got out and in the end some of them have gotten into far worse things then drugs. Basic needs prove to be stronger then their fear of prison.

Dark Eldar codex is looking pretty bland and disappointing, between that and the disappointment with the Eldar codex my interest in 40k is rapidly disappearing. Enthusiasm for End Times and WFB has taken a huge hit too so for the first time in 19 years or something I'm seriously considering giving up WFB and 40k. 40k has become boring as **** after some real promise with supplements and the like. WFB End Times has promise but I'm not confident in GWs ability to deliver, and I just don't give a **** about any of it anymore.
