The point I'm trying to make is that we should be able to have a conversation on difficult political topics while still being able to walk away from it without absolutely hating the other person just because they don't agree with you on a complex, nuanced subject. On multiple occasions, you and/or one of a handful of other posters here have said extremely insulting things that you may not have even realized was insulting to either myself or to close friends and family of mine. Heck, eldargal literally said "American cops are racist brutes". Not verbatim, but close enough. Two of my best friend's fathers are police officers. Two other very close friends from high school are now police officers, and a third is military police. I'm good friends with five or ten police officers I met through various crossfit gyms. Of the people on this list, half of them belong to various non-white ethnic groups, and there isn't one that I wouldn't trust implicitly. I get what eldargal was trying to say, but she doesn't realize how offensive and insensitive her comment was. It's like when guys attack feminists with sweeping statements like "they just hate men", only with regards to politics rather than sexism. You've done the same on several occasions.

So what I'm asking is to temper your rhetoric. Try not to insult everyone who belongs to political groups you disagree with. Try not to insult people who disagree with you just because you feel strongly about a particular subject. And don't try to play innocent and brush it off if you get called on it. I'm sure I've said my share of crap myself, after all.

I liked that movie a lot, but I did kind of wonder about that. I was suprised people didn't make more out of Drax calling her a whore.
