    Default Deathguard help

I'm looking for help building a list, over the Christmas period I acquired and built a Nurgle CSM army I've used it once and not to very good effect so I'm looking for some input from my fellow nurgle brothers.

    I have:

    HQ
    Typhus
    Nurgle biker lord
    Sorcerer
    Terminator sorcerer
    Lord on foot
    Winged Daemon Prince

    Elite
    5x Nurgle terminators
    5x Chosen

    Troops
    20x Cultists
    3x 7 Plague Marines Squads

    Dedicated Transport
    4x Rhinos

    Fast Attack
    6x Nurgle bikes
    8x Chaos Spawn
    1x Baledrake

    Heavy
    2x 3 obliterators
    2x land raiders
Open to proxying a rhino as a predator/vindicator with a view to buy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've not the army now I just need to be able to competently make a list.

    Thanks
    Chanderzz

I should have been clearer I'm looking to make an 1850pts list, trying to be Death Guard Nurgle fluffy. Ideally I'd like to use Typhus as he's painted and I really like the model.

    Thanks again,

i play v csm, and imo at 1850 or higher you want two lannies and max oblitz, sure termies can take a lannie at DT.
i tend to think spawn are better than they were in the old codex, but still very dodgy {run groups of 5 for some level of threat and try to get their turn 1 move to put them in cover}, and currently rhino's are just very vulnerable especially if they made an easy target.... two lannies can just about hide three rhinos for one turn... both chosen and possessed seem a little over-pointed, can you convert them into havocs?

That's a pretty solid group of models you have there. Any army you threw together from them would be decent. When you post lists, don't include the itemized points costs as that can get forums into legal trouble with Games Workshop.

Overall the list seems pretty solid. I wouldn't worry about the land raider wall, you can protect your rhinos with threat saturation instead. Below I've posted your list with some suggested changes. The land raider was dropped in favor of a larger biker unit with lord. This unit can put pressure on the enemy with a turbo boost turn 1, or it can hide behind a land raider/rhino wall.

    Typhus - 230
5 Terminators: nurgle, heavy flamer, powerfist, chainfist, power maul, 2 power axes - 216
    Land Raider - 230
As you said, crashes straight into the enemy. It won't have too much use for a reaper autocannon so it's been swapped for a heavy flamer. Should be plenty o' hits coming out that assault ramp. Had to drop the lightning claw in some points shuffling. I generally consider axes to be the best weapon for terminators but a single maul is great to knock monstrous creatures down to I 1 so your fists can swing more.

Lord: nurgle, powerfist, lightning claw, bike, sigil - 165
    5 Bikers: nurgle, 2 meltaguns - 160
I couldn't bear to see that second land raider with no assault troops in it so these bikes have taken its place.

    10 Cultists - 50
    10 Cultists - 50
Backfield objectives holders, always needed in 6th.

    5 Plague Marines: 2 meltaguns - 140
    Rhino - 35

    5 Plague Marines: 2 meltaguns - 140
    Rhino - 35
Main purpose: Shoot melta guns at things. Second: Survive until end of game, take objectives.

    Helldrake: baleflamer - 170
All infantry in your opponent's front line will be smashed to pieces by your assault troops. However it will be hard to reach anything in the backfield. Helldrake covers this role nicely.

    3 Obliterators: nurgle - 228
These give you more reach into the backfield, solid.
