It looks like it plugs into the Void Shield Generator... If this is legit and these pieces can interlock, I'm going to be pretty upset. I like to have all the pieces to a set, not just some of them.

I'm still betting on there being a plastic void shield generator in the future, and the resin one was unable to be made plastic for whatever reason.
