Default Mecha Front is now live...

A new miniature wargame is finally be released to the public. I have playtested and helped revise some of the rules for the game so I can personally attest to how fun it is. The miniatures are really excellent quality, second to none. The game is being put out by Paulson Games, for those of you who may be familiar. If you like Battletech and/or just big robots (Mecha) check it out here:

Battletech is around about 6mm scale, these are 15mm scale so are much bigger and more detailed.

Battletech is a mixture of 1/285 which is smaller than Z scale[7mm] and N scale [10mm] so at 15 mm you are looking at a much larger miniature.

So, for $120, you get 5 models and ONLY a digital copy of the rules?

Uhm... Why is there no print copy available?

I'm sorry, while the models look nice; there really should be a print copy of the rules... Especially at $120...

And only choice of one weapon option for each of the Mecha?

    Thanks, but no thanks...

Well for those interested in the size. The 15m light mecha is actually larger then a GW dreadnought. The 15m mediums just barely fit the legs onto a 60mm base. Obviously the large and Quad get even bigger. The 6m scale is actually slightly larger then a battletech model for around $12. The 15m size mecha at $20-$30 at that scale seems reasonable considering the quality and resin. Personally I have paid $100 for forgeworld dreadnoughts many times, but that's me.

For reference here is a pic via the Mecha Front FB page showing a size comparison of a battletech model next to the 6m size. @Yourswordismine, I am backing the project and would also like to see a print rule book, so I will make a suggestion for it to be offered.

Also at the moment the 4k and 5k goals have been hit which means at the $120 level your getting 4 extra weapon options, 2 for heavy and 2 for light mecha (for the 15m) scale. Hopefully there will be lots more free unlocks, and soon!

I'm looking at books, main reason I haven't offered them just yet is that they will likely push back the delivery date.

Here's some pics for a size reference with the 15mm models

$120 is really not a lot to pay for 5 large, well cast resin models and a set of rules to use them
