    True that.

And he has slipped up. Majorly.

    SPOILER

He sent Ser Fatty to give Sansa that necklace, and make sure she was out of there before it kicked off. He then reveals the necklace is a fake he commissioned, before leaving it on Ser Fatty's body. Whoops! Not gonna take long to find that, and then the maker, and from the maker, the commissioner of the work.

No, he just tossed it in the ocean. Besides, even if it is found, all that does is point back to Sansa as the culprit. They'll know someone helped her, but not who.

Didn't land in the ocean.....landed on the body.

And it's possible to find who ordered it.

Whatever. Even if it did end up mattering, how would they connect the necklace to anything? They might realize it was poison crystals, maybe, but what then? How are they supposed to track down the maker when only Dontos, Sansa, Littlefinger, and the guy who made the necklace even know it exists. They already suspect Sansa, Dontos is dead, and Littlefinger probably killed the maker, so the only way to connect it to Littlefinger would be for Sansa to tell them, and they have to find her first.

Sansa wore it at the wedding. Then disappeared.

Sansa seemingly has no money of her own. So where did it come from? Who gave it to her? Tyrion? Possibly. But he can use its existence to prove his apparent innocence.

It's a major slip up, leaving two whacking great bits of evidence behind you.

The boat is drifting in the middle of the ocean. Who is going to find it? In the unlikely event that a passing boat finds Dontos, they aren't going to know who he is. No one in King's Landing will even notice he is gone, and if they do, they won't bother looking for him. they'll just assume he's legged it now Joffrey isn't abusing him any more. Cersei has everyone convinced that Tyrion is responsible, they are trying to prove his guilt, not look for other suspects.

In the extremely unlikely event that someone in a position of power does find Dontos and the necklace, they are unlikely to connect it to Sansa. Do you think anyone there actually paid her enough attention to notice what necklace she was wearing? Tyrion possibly, but he isn't going to drop her in it.

Nope, I'm afraid Mystery, that Little Finger really doesn't need to worry about it.

Dontos was at the wedding. Everyone there saw him do his star turn.

Boat was close enough for Little Finger to show concern they might be heard.

Hoping someone rogers Little Finger to death with a red hot pick axe at some point 'soon' (next book).
Ask not the EldarGal a question, for she will give you three answers, all of which are puns and terrifying to know. Back off man, I'm a feminist. Ia! Ia! Gloppal Snode!

Yeah, but the point this, they aren't looking for him. This isn't some modern police force, looking at all angles and suspects. Cersei is convinced it is Tyrion, and Tywin wouldn't be particularly sad at losing him, so it's just a case of them pinning the blame on him, any way they can. The episode made clear that Cersei was already fabricating evidence and witnesses.

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!
