Seem to remmeber the hotel doing "lunch boxes" for attendees. But it was like a crap sandwich, apple and a warm coke for 7 pounds.

yeh the lunch boxes were crap, but the actual meals at the bar were really nice. The bar really isn't set up to provide food for that many people though.

My advice would be to work out what panels you really want to see and what you aren't too bothered about. The room is big enough to take everybody attending, so don't worry about not getting in (though do get there early if you want to be near the front, which I recommend as well). Most of the people will be in most of the panels, so if it is something you aren't fussed about, that's a great time to pop out and chat with the FW model designers, the artists and everyone else.

Also, if you want books, posters etc signing, don't be afraid to ask your favourite author as they are walking around. The book signings are good, but you could be queuing for a LONG time, and in general they aren't too fussed about signing something if you have a pen and the book ready. That said, they will often have to be somewhere if you catch them on the fly, so that isn't the point to stop them and get in to an in depth discussion about the direction of your favourite/most hated character.

Also, don't buy a wonderful, huge, unique poster just because you can. I did, and it's just been rolled up in my parent's garage ever since. Of course, if you have a dedicated gaming area...

General feel?

Grown Up Games Day.

All the stuff you'd expect of a Games Day, but smaller and more intimate in scale. Every panel is a seminar, and best of all? No idiots with massive backpacks crowding round a display cabinet, only to barge you out the way when they've seen what's in it.

Also do t be the guy who asks the usual inane waste of time questions that everyone asks.

Im sure I heard "will there be a xenos heresy book" or a "can i play 30k to 40k" or "will we learn the missing legions" or "squats existed in 30k will we see them" multiple times. Usually the reply was the same and everyone around you groans and hates you for wasting valuable question time with idiotic questions

Yup.

Ditto questions about prices. No point.

Ok, two days worth of rice salad in a cool bag then.
What time did the sales stalls kick off?

Thanks for all the input!
I've had an itinerary drawn up since they published the schedule, I'm going for a balanced mix of seminars and hobby tutorials. Good to know I'll be able to get a look in. Also, double high fives for not being that guy. It makes me cringe when folks ask inappropriate questions to GW employees.

From opening. Probably before, on account there'll be people staying at the venue.

And if you see anyone buying more than one of anything either limited or pre-release, you have my permission to jump up and down on their scalping little fingers. Unless it's fairly reasonable more than one. Like something that comes in a unit of 10, but is sold in packs of 5.

And here's a serial top tip....

If there's a group of you going, and you fancy eating out, I just discovered this place online, and it's definitely a crowd pleaser of a restaurant. I shall be visiting it on my next jolly up Nottingham in early July!
