Well, I thought the Unreleased 2nd Edition Squats looked pretty good, still too obviously a mix between guard/marine/dwarf, but a huge improvement over the RT ones - much like all the 2nd ed metals ;

Personally I think they should do Demiurg as a Tau Ally. They only need 1 plastic box and a few blisters really, the rest can be done as conversions for those that want pure Demiurg. I bet they'd sell really well too ;
