I play ALEPH and Nomads (Corregidor, will start Tunguska when it's released). Be warned that Ariadna plays very differently from the rest of the factions. They're super low-tech, so they have to rely on some weird tactics. That said, if you want to play sneaky and spam camo markers, Ariadna can be a lot of fun, but definitely not my personal style.

The good thing about Ariadna is that they rely on different tactics. While it might be a weakness in that in makes the learning curve a little more difficult it's a great strength. You can't hack them, they have climbing plus and camo all over the place, their heavy weapons cost less SWC, and they are mostly immune to E/M attacks.

While they may be low-tech they have access to some of the best ammunition in the game (T2).

They aren't seen very much at competitions outside of spec-ops tournies because they lack hackers and thus it's easy for them to get stuck with a classified they can't complete.

That's the one big drawback I've found with infinity. There are often mission rules that have... unforseen consequences. Inter-faction balance is great, but the general balance is kind of finnicky. Play on a table with even a little too much or too little terrain, or bring the wrong type of specialists to a game, and you're screwed. Luckily N3 is coming up, and hopefully it will address some of those issues.

well I like the look of quite a few of the factions, so I might have to splash out on three or four starter sets. shame they are metal.

They tend to look really nice once you pin them, though. They have some awesome models.

yeah I am impressed, like the manga style, very appleseed some of the mech stuff. I just hate working with metal. but I suppose you don't need all that many models.

Do please give it a go
I found the rule book a bit intimidating at first but just dove on in and haven't looked back! It's great fun, quick to play with amaze balls models!

I personally think the faction starters are great places to start.
What faction do you think you fancy? There are obviously some units better than others but you can play and have fun with any unit in the game whose models you really like so I'd start there.

I bought Yu-jing first just cause I liked the models. Then when I learned the rules and background I went Nomads and Ariadna. The models just sucked me in
