    Default A Great British Holiday

    How do?

Looking to get my holiday on at some point. Not been on a proper one for aaaages (trips up to Scotland to see folks don't count. Too stressful).

And I want to stay within the UK, as we've got an awful lot to see before I need go abroad (Skara Brae predates Pyramids I believe?).

Anyone got any recommendations? I love Torquay, having holidayed there as a child and utterly destroyed the arcade X-Men with my Bro. I want a taste of local culture, cuisine and booze. That's what I be after!

York. It has a railway museum.

Think I've been there in my younger years, and yes, Railway Museum is ace.

Also been to.....Nottingham, Northampton, Manchester, Stockport (working for GW on most occasions).

I want new and interesting experiences! Secret, little known museums (there's a Witchcraft one I'm desperate to see) unusual historical attractions (local one I found on a random drive? Henry VIII's old hunting lodge, where he stayed whilst pursuring Anne Boelyn's affections). That sort of thing!

I like Bath, lots to see and do. Nice restaurants too.

Torquays not what it used to be, well unless you like your cocaine and heroine. Its not that bad really but I just see it as a run down resort now full of piss heads and druggies on a Saturday night and old people the rest of the time.

The town itself has really suffered in the recession. The harbour side is still nice and of course theres the Zoo in Paignton and Kents Cavern in Torquay amongst other attractions. Me I can't wait to get the **** out of here now. But then I've lived here all my life.

    London Comic Con? Hehe.
Ask not the EldarGal a question, for she will give you three answers, all of which are puns and terrifying to know. Back off man, I'm a feminist. Ia! Ia! Gloppal Snode!

Need to talk to Mr Webb about Comic Con. Might be able to get me in free.

I second Bath, and Lyme Regis is very nice. Also Buckfastleigh because they have the abbey, a butterfly sanctuary and the railway - but most importantly lots of otters!
