It's got some cool stories and fluff but the force org is an epic fail. Basically you use the exact entry from Codex Space Marines. You must take 1 unit and can take up to 3 additional units. 1 Sgt becomes your warlord. They all count as scoring in the detachment which I guess would translate into objective secured. They have their own warlord traits table but no special rules for first turn arrival which blows. They get 1 special piece of wargear that is super fun and fluffy but not even in the realm of competitive play... of course if you're going heavy into the legion you probably don't care about that anywho!
I ordered the Demonic bases for my Legion....got 3 sets coming and ordered the Digital book. Great Fluff!!
You could just mount them on the neck of a marine head. You could also GS a cowl to give them extra 'weight', although I don't know if they would still look like LoTD after that...
AUT TACE AUT LOQUERE MELIORA SILENTIO
So, there is a little rules problem with an all LotD army...
I think you still need to deploy 50 per cent of your units before turn 1, and LotD all deep strike in. Its a pain in the backside as I have three units!
However, Plasma and melta that ignores cover is invaluable, so bear that in mind when list building
check me if im wrong but it says in glossary posted as (universal army rule)... aid from beyond pg 51 of the dc .. All units from the Legion of the Damned detachment arrive from Reserve at the start of the Legion of the Damned player’s Turn 1. These units must enter play via Deep Strike as normal...
only the warlord trait gives you the ability to hold them back.
played them this weekend vs a waac tourn necron army at 1552 points won 1 tied 1...
