It looks like its really hard to find models which really fit the old arbites. Converting scouts seems to be the best way. Considering I need only five arbites to get a squad of ten, I could do it I guess.

    For the Hybrids and the standard brood brothers I don´t want a military uniform look. I think fantasy imperial flagellants or imperial militia mixed with a few chaos cultists and some genestealer parts will be the way to go. The Magus could be converted from Imperial wizards. And the broodlord and his genestealers will be taken directly from space Hulk.
    I think Flagellants with termagant/ hormagaunt bits could certainly work.... The stealer bits will be way too big

    Thank you for the advice. Are there any claws or similar in the gaunt kits?

    So if you ignore the obvious IG with come the Apocalypse Tyranid allies. Which is a legal battleforged army. Then here is a suggestion:

    Chaos Space Marines with Daemon allies

    Chaos lord = Patriarch
    Chaos Sorcerer = Magus

    Cultists equal basic cultists

    Genestealers = Daemonettes

    Hearald of Slannesh = Broodlord

    Hybrids are the problem, I would lean towards just using Chosen Marines, simply for the modeling opportunities. Heavy Support could be havoc or looted Space Marine vehicles.
    I considered using Chaos Space Marines, but I don´t like a 3+ save on the Magus. Hybrids are the problem in most of my ideas. The early generations of hybrids should be like speed and strength buffed humans not better than pure strain stealers with a 3+ save. The best way I can imagine at the moment is using the rules for arco-flagellants.

    Yes and as well as being more size compatible, there will be more bits too!

    Actually I would just stick with an IG main detachment where the Primaris is the Magus and official inofficial mandatory HQ is a Tank Commander and Conscripts as Kultists. Ally in a Broodlord Hunting Pack Formation (Rising Leviathan 1) so you get your Patriarch too and still be reasonable with Fluff and Rules.

    I really like the idea of using the stealer formation with Inquisition.

    Although the new chaos imperial armor book will be available shortly and I may like that better if the renegades list in it is similar to the one in vraks, just updated. The renegades list will have a good stand in for the civilian mobs that were in the old stealer cult list as well as a few more elite units like vets, should allow for mixed equipment and a less military feel. There may even be mutations available to represent stat bumps for brood brothers, who knows. That list should have a very militia feel to it. Coupled with the Genestealer formation it might make for a good option.

    Here's a link to the old list from forgeworld http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/i/IA5_RH.pdf

    I like that the models can be individually equipped with lasgun, autogun, shotgun, pistol ccw, have access to stuff like stubbers. Supposedly if rumors are true the new imperial armour will have an update of that list to the new edition. The workers rabble also fits well imo. Could make for a good genestealer cult stand in.

    No, they don't really have Genestealer-style claws. Scything talons, yes (Hormagaunts), but not claws.
