I thought we were meant to vilify the rich...shouldn't we vilify the rich instead?

That's who I was meaning. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. I don't use the trains, I don't have kids, I receive no money from the government.

Whilst it would be patently untrue that I derive no benefit from the taxes I pay, I would say I receive the barest minimum.

There are a couple of good reasons to vote UKIP.

    1. They want to raise the personal tax allowance to the minimum wage full time equivalent, which will lift a lot of people out of tax and give everyone a tax break.

    2. Removal of tuition fees on certain degree subjects (as long as you work and live in the UK for the next 5 years). Again, this will encourage people to do shortage or specialist degrees that will increase the knowledge base which is utilametly good for the economy.

    3. Abolishion of inheritance tax

    4. English MPs to only vote on England only matters

    5. Child benefit is only to be paid to children permanently resident in the UK and future child benefit to be limited to the first two children only.

    6. UKIP will protect the Green Belt. (and offer incentives to re-develop brown field sites)

    7. Prisoners will not have the right to vote

    8. Ensure that the law is rigorously enforced in relation to ‘cultural’ practices which are illegal in Britain, such as forced marriages, FGM and so-called ‘honour killings’

Obviously, there are of course the health warning that just because something is in a party manifesto doesn't mean that they will deliver it, but that is true of all parties.

Didn't think UKIP actually had any policies, apart from mugging at the camera and thinly veiled racism and bigotry?

They have quite a few, this selection are the ones which were appealing to me.

Except as Kirsten's link demonstrates - there's something of a whole in their budget.

I really hope they get a nasty shock at the General Election. They're a horrific party. Promise something new, yet comprised largely of Tory turncoats, bigots, racists, homophobes and those who appear to hate anyone not them.

I was not commenting on their ability to deliver or the costings of such, just that there are reasons.

For me the belief that cyclists should pay "road tax" is enough of a reason for them not to get my vote.

all the reasonable things they say are just a façade to make the racist stuff seem more palatable
