    Default Fearless and Soulfright

    Soulfright:

At the end of the Shooting phase, a unit that has suffered one or more hits from a weapon with this special rule in that phase must make a Leadership test. The unit suffers a single additional Wound, with no armour or cover saves allowed, for each point this test is failed by. Wounds cannot be allocated to models with the Fearless or And They Shall Know No Fear special rules (any excess Wounds are lost).
    Fearless:

Units containing one or more models with the Fearless special rule automatically pass Pinning, Fear, Regroup tests and Morale checks, but cannot Go to Ground and cannot choose to fail a Morale check due to the Our Weapons Are Useless rule.
You could argue that on model with the "fearless" USR does not make the unit have the fearless USR but only pass certain tests. It doesnt confer "fearless" to the other models.

    Tyranid synapse for example:

Friendly Codex: Tyranids models within this synapse range, including the Synapse Creatures themselves, have the Fearless special rule.
    Same for imperial Priests.

So according to the wording of Soulfright you can actually attack a squad of IG with priest support or Tyranids in a unit with some models in synapse range. You do cause wounds but cant allocate these wounds to the specific models with the "fearless" USR (in these cases the Priest himself and all tyranid models within synapse range)

    Thoughts?

Well no, because it says "Tyranid models in range," meaning all Tyranid models under Synapse range gain Fearless.
Read the above in a Tachikoma voice.

    Yes, tyranid MODELS under synapse.
You can easily have a 20 gaunts squad with only 2 gaunts in synapse range while the rest is outside. So 18 valid targets and 2 where with the fearless USR.

Yes indeed, the models in a squad with a Fearless character don't actually gain that rule, so they'd have to be allocated the wounds for the Soulfright. Though they would get to take the LD test on the highest LD in the unit like normal.

Another thing (for what it's worth) to keep in mind is that, even if the unit is fearless, you still get to hit them with a STR1 AP- blast (woohoo!)... so that might occasionally do something.

Another thought: Do the vehicle mounted grenade launchers count as a weapon for 'weapon destroyed' vehicle damage results? If so, then they would (albeit in a very minor way) make a raider slightly more resilient.

Better question, why wouldn't they be?

Yep, that's how I'm reading it, based on your wording in the OP (which I assume is verbatim from the rulebook)

They're not really modeled like standard weapons. You pretty much line the entire hull with launchers. It's not like the dark lance/disintegrator, where you can pinpoint the actual weapon, with a specific arc of fire.

Does it have weapon stats? Or is it just Wargear that creates an effect? Can you perform an Attack that Wounds with it?

For example, the Ironclad Launchers on the Ironclad Dreadnought do not have a weapon profile, but otherwise act like Assault Grenades in allowing full I on the charge through terrain. Assault Grenades DO have a weapon profile, though, so if a Vehicle had them, they would qualify (oddly enough).
