Post need help with nids list

So i will be finishing up my chaos space marines soon and i really wanted to do tyranids as my next army. I am looking to get between 500-1000 points of tyranids to start out with. Will be reading learn2eel's tyranids tactica, but thought i would see if anyone has any reccomended lists for that many points. Competetive is cool but not required.

    2 fun/solid lists.

    MC spam:
    HQ 1 Flyrant with DD
    1 Flyrant with DD
    H 1 Carnifex with DD
    1 Carnifex with DD
    1 Carnifex with DD
    T 11 Termagaunts
    11 Termagaunts

    998 points. 2 flyers, 5 MC's and 60 S6 TL shots a turn from those 5 MC's. That will hurt things.

For a more fun swarmy army try:
    HQ 1 Flyrant with DD
    E 1 Venomthrope
    H 1 Biovores
    1 Biovores
    1 Biovores
    T 25 Hormagants with TS
    25 Hormagants with TS
    3 Warriors
    Barbed Strangler
    3 Warriors
    Barbed Strangler
Still some decent shooting, it has 5 large blasts. Lots of poisoned hormagaunts. 61 models, venomthrope for cover as well, lots of synapse in a smaller list.

Here's my idea for nids, it's more old school but still highly effective. These lists are really simple to play, Nids have horrible at shooting so forget it, it will only slow you down. Get across the table and bite their head off.

Playing the Carnifex Stampede is almost mind numbingly simple, basically point them at the enemy and go. with the Carnifexes you can split them into three broods and attack multiple squads at the same time or you can have them in one and steamroll whatever is stupid enough to stand in the way of three rampaging fexes. And once they deal with the fexes they still have to deal with the Tyrant and warriors. As far as fliers, I just ignore them.

Playing a swarm requires a bit more finesse, I have the Guants go out and hold stuff until the Stealers get there and chop them up, the warriors are there for synapse and the soften units, and finally the Zoans just float around soaking up missiles and lancing things.

Welcome to the Swarm and remember to always play with you food!

think any nid army can be fun and 'work' just make sure you dont play on a billiard table or against DE !
