Default Tau Special Forces

Got bored waiting for Adeptus Mechanicus. Made some Tau commandos from a squad of utterly ruined Fire Warriors.

Cutting Tau nostrils into Dark Eldar Wych heads is tricker than you might think...

Great conversion of non-Tau bits to the Greater Good - that always seems pretty tricky. They do look pretty brutal!

definitely an interesting choice of bits, a shame there isn't a veteran fire warrior squad option. I particularly like the rifles, unusual choice of bits to get a great overall look.

I think they would be great as a hard-as-nails unit in a Farsight force
It is unfortunate that there is no veteran Fire Warriors unit, although I guess it doesn't match the fluff of veterans becoming battlesuit pilots.

true, but the HQ choice dude is on foot, so you could have elite infantry.

Yeah, they could certainly add a unit, but the HQ guy on foot is meant to be a sort of anomaly IIRC, a rare example of sometau who wants to remain a footslogger.

What bit did you use for the "barrel" of the rifle?

I recently made some plastic Sisters of Battle, and used bolters (obviously) instead of the guns from the kit they came from.

Those Eisekern Valkir guns are very nice, and I was just waiting for something to come along that I could use them on; this seemed perfect.
