Default Warmachine/Hordes in the State of Maine?

As I am about to the State of Maine, I'm curious if any of the BOLS denizens live/play up there?

Depends on where you are planning to live. I used to call Bangor, Maine home a long time ago. I was just back there this past fall and know there is a gaming store in Ellsworth, one that seems to be in the process of "moving/re-opening" in Bangor. And though I never looked, I would imagine you could find something down in the Portland area as it is one of the more populated cities in Maine.

I don't know how current this is, but I would suggest using this list.

Actually, that link might not be that helpful... I just used it to search local shops in my area, and most on the list are loooong gone. Sorry. Your best bet might be to find a comic shop and see if they can point you to a shop if they don't provide gaming in their store.

I appreciate the good intentions and advice though. So what can I look forward to living in Bangor?

Well, Bangor is a small city. The good thing is you're kind of central so really not too far away from things to do, but the town is closing down at 6pm and pretty much dead by 8pm... Lol!

For eats I'd recommend Papa Gambinos or Tri-City Pizza for pizza and subs. They're local and pretty good. The Ground Round on Hogan road makes a good burger. I don't know how old you are but if you drink Beers the Seadog Brewery and Hero's Sports grill are both downtown Bangor and I've frequented the Seadog many times.

The downtown area isn't very big but seems to be getting a younger hipster kind of makeover. And while I have yet to go there, the city allowed gambling several years ago (Hollywood Casino) and my Mother said it was a "fun" place whenever she went back home and visited. There are always concerts and outdoor venues near there during the summer. I want to check it out, but never have enough time.

If you read/collect comics visit Top shelf comics. They are right in downtown at 25 Central St. They have a great selection of current and back issues. Real nice staff. I always try to drop in there and give them some business when I visit.

I found a couple of places. Again, not sure where you are moving to, but Crossroads Games is a shop in Standish, Maine. North-West of Portland I think. I just looked at their website and it looks like they have a Warmachine/hordes League. http://www.crossroadgames.com/

The other place is in Gray, Maine. Dirigo Hobbies, they don't have a website, just a facebook link. https://www.facebook.com/DirigoHobbies

Good luck, hope you can find someplace to keep up with your hobby/gaming. Oh yeah... Again, not sure where you are relocating from, but enjoy the seafood... Its what I miss the most. If you get to Bar Harbor visit Geddy's. Great fish and seafood. Bar Harbor is getting more commercial, and overcrowded but Geddy's is worth a visit. And the Eagles Nest in Brewer (just across the river from Bangor) makes a great Lobster Roll if you like those. They put big chunks of lobster meat in their rolls.

Thank you very much Sir. You are a gentleman an a scholar. I know you know what you are talking about because my wife and I have been to Geddy's and it is our favorite place on the island. We are relocating from central Texas to central Maine. The apartment we have rented it right downtown on Maine Street across from the Nocturne. I've made a note of those restaurants and the gaming shops in the nearby cities.

    No problem.

Make sure you get the Mrs. down to Cadillac mountain for a sunrise when the weather permits. It can be crowded but it really is awesome. I took my wife this past Fall. So not only was it a beautiful sunrise but the Fall foliage made it even more memorable. Schoodic Point is another place you should check out. Not as busy as Bar Harbor/Acadia and some amazing coastal scenery.

Try Warmachine/Hordes:New England Facebook page. A lot of tournaments and info on the page.

Thanks I'll go check it out although I don't think I'm going to be up for travelling too far outside of Maine on a regular basis. Bangor to the rest of New England would be quite a commute for the average tournament.
