I kind of enjoy that - much like Walking Dead, it adds lots of unknowns to the shows.
We don't know who is going to survive, let alone win. I find it vests me in the characters more.

I can't stand it. when I see Circei's smug, stupid face plotting nonsense, I would just kill her instantly.
Twelve monkeys, eleven hats. One monkey is sad.
I'd be surprised if she survives much longer.

she shouldn't have survived beyond the second episode

True. She was kind of central to all that followed though.
Now? Superfluous.

she isn't the only one though, so many of the characters are just tedious plotters. shallow, evil, people bickering amongst themselves. I really don't care.

Well sounds like it's not for you then.
I rather like Cersi in the TV program it's interesting how much they've made her character more sympathetic in the show than the book. I was almost cheering when she was disgraced by the High Sparrow in the book but in the series I'm rooting for her to give him a kicking (or rather have Jamie do it)
Although the story is a fantasy it does draw inspiration from the War of the Roses and Cersi could well be slipped into that period of history very easily or an time between 1000 and 1600 AD. She is very much a women of that age.

Eh, I'm with Kirsten. There's some fascinating stuff to explore with the dragons and the wargs and the Wall! But instead they keep focusing on petty politics and pointless backstabbing. The humans are the least interesting part of the setting.
Kabal of Venomed Dreams
yes! the wall was one thing I did want to see, and you do get a shot of it at the start, but I might jump to a later episode with some more Jon Snow and check in there. Having read the books I don't really need to worry about spoilers or not being able to follow the story, so I might just pick a few scenes I might be curious to see on screen and how they translate. we shall see, we own series one on dvd so it is always possible I might get really bored and watch some more.
