Default Skimmers taking dangerous terrain tests

I recently ran into a problem playing Tau. All Tau vehicles are skimmers. According to the skimmer rule, if they begin or end their turn in difficult terrain, they have to take a dangerous terrain test. However, the rules for dangerous terrain are clearly slanted towards infantry because in those rules, they talk about taking a wound when failing a dangerous terrain test. They also say that armor saves can be taken. My first assumption was that I would lose a hull point but that seems severe since I wouldn't even get a chance at a save.

Can anyone add some clarification or point to some sort of rules update?

    Thanks in advance.

If you fail your dangerous terrain test with a vehicle, it looses a hull point and suffers a immobilized result with no saves allowed (except invulnerable saves I guess).
Check out page 73 in the rulebook.

If you are Tau just buy all the vehicles "Sensor spines" and ignore those dangerous terrain tests...

Hal: Thanks for pointing out the page. That is pretty severe.

Anakzar: In light of the above, sensor spines for all my Tau vehicles it is.
