A Yard Stick Won't Be Enough:

I'm beginning to think that even a meter is too conservative an estimate for the height of this behemoth.

The yardstick as presented indicate the 27 inches tall my Warlord stands.

The Triangular shoulders represent the width of the platform the cathedral superstructure sits on so even with out the legs the yardstick comes up short.

And a bird's eye view of the titan as it is today.

I was wondering how you'd transport something that big, but honestly I think your titan is going to reach the size where you can actually buckle it in to the car seat instead.

My Warlord and this Emperor break down into two easily manageable subsections which in turn can be broken down into dozens of subassemblies that facilitate upgrades, painting and repairs. I employ screws, sliding rails and magnets to facilitate assembly and breakdown, even my resin Chaos Warhounds can be disassembled at will through the judicious application of rare earth magnets.

    Thanks for the question.

    Welcome back Meph,

    Cities of Death Bitz:

When I first started this project I stated I would be relying heavily of Prefab Bitz so as to make this model more accessible to would-be modelers. I fully expected readers to be able to make their own Emperor Titans following my examples. Certainly there are no big secrets revealed in this construction

The problem I see in most Emperor Titans that employ bitz is a lack of imagination. You cannot use the pieces directly out of the box. Witness below.....

The flying buttresses as they come out of the box have little application to speak of in this area of the Titan but with a bit of judicious cutting and filing they find purpose.

Likewise the area below the 'head' calls for a processional egress onto the balcony/podium/pulpit.

Of course this is all subject to interpretation, You might have reservations about a huge vulnerable door in the front of the chest, I do myself but nothing is etched in stone and I may change my mind in the future but something is better than nothing so I'm going for it at this moment.

Rule of Cool applies here. Besides, you have void shields galore, right? And what is more perfect for a walking cathedral of death? My only concern would be if it opened directly to the reactor.

If the beast needs a belly-button door, I'd make it rather small to be honest. Either a round entryway with either one round hatch, or two halves, airlock style.
Or perhaps a door tapered like a gothic window. The large square gate looks really out of place to be honest.

I'd take a middle-road between rule-of-cool and practicality of having a front-facing door instead of armour plating.

Orr perhaps an elaborate combo of sliding armour sections revealing an armoured door?

Ha, you've read my mind. I've o[ted for a curved pocket door to slide back into the chest.

I'm going to keep the huge doors under the head as a passage to the heart of the Titan the reactor core and rationalize it as a means to extract the core for replacement and maintenance.

Wouldn't you need a large iris door on the bottom or back for that. Somewhat akin to say, a sphincter?

The front doors would be better rationalized as a firing/public speech balcony I feel. And behind the doors, nothing more than a curved hallway or minimalist barracks in front of a huge reinforced armoured wall of the reactor housing. Having a front door open to the reactor room seems quite suicidal.

I thought there were Void Generators and shielding to take care of those problems plus if they cannot, the entire Titan is a top heavy house of cards.

Besides if the armour is breached and the Titan is going down, opening the doors and ejecting the core via a catapult mechanism at the enemy for some nasty heavy metal poisoning in a last ditch effort for the glory of the Emperor; "May He Forever Continue To Rot!"
