Cult Mechanus refers to the wider apparatus of the Adepts on the Forge World colonies and embedded within the Imperium rather than the actual Adeptus Mechanicus of Mar's it's self. So it sounds like another small army, this time designed to provide technical support to the SM and AM.

"Cult mechanicus" sounds more like a focus on the tech-priests and techo-religious stuff...sounds more my thing. I still ordered the Skitarii codex for the art and fluff though.

The price isn't that bad (£20 for 80 pages) either compared to some of the others.

Codex Knights is £25 and only has 64 pages.

Codex Militarum Tempestus (softback) is £25 and has 72 pages

Wow... I didn't catch that it was $33. That's a much more sane and reasonable price for a codex. Granted, it's only 80 pages, but still, at least it's a step in the right direction. Some of the supplements are 80 pages but $50 (like Waaagh! Ghazghkull).

As mentioned before, the Skitarii Infantry are also quite sanely priced. £23.50 for a full 10 man unit, though not with every possible combo of toys (only one of each spangle gun).

Codex noticably cheaper than the Knights one for extra pages.....

Even the tanks aren't massively expensive (your threshold may vary of course)

For now of course, it's the anomaly. But given we've a new head at the erm....head...we could be seeing a sign of things to come.

Those I'm not fussed about. Got two I'll be fiddling with tonight, and will almost certainly expand that to a full maniple of 6 Dragoons - because they'll look striking on the field, and TASER LANCES FZAAPPPPP!

For my pocket, as long as my Troop or Core choices are well priced, the rest can be a bit pricier, because I'll need less of them. Currently got 4 boxes of Rangers and Thingies, giving me 4 full troop choices. Two more, and that's an FoC Trooped out, and for under £150. Not many (if any?) armies can say that!

And yes, IG and Orks and Nids are the exception

Would need to check me book, but if I'm right in thinking, Harlequin Troops come in squads of up to 10, whereas a box gives 6?

Skitarii boxes represent a 'max head count' unit.
