    Default Is the Harlequin codex the most beautiful book GW have produced?

    Is the Harlequin codex the most visually beautiful book ever?

    Almost all the artwork is brand new and it is stunning. Ill let some of the pictures speak for themselves

    Wow, that spread in the 3rd photo is just...damn. Can't even, yo. It's an astounding piece of 40K artwork. It's completely outside of the company's standard illustration type, and stunningly executed to boot. Not sure who that artist is, but hopefully GW will keep them contributing.

    Re: the title, tho, it's got a lot to live up to, because the 3rd Edition rulebook still exists.

    Love that 3rd Ed rulebook. Still have a dog-eared copy back in the UK~

    Those are some amazing pieces. The End Times stuff has generally been pretty impressive too; if this is indicative of future art output, I'm all for it.

    That was one of my first thoughts too. The art style is just so different. Sure there are some that look similar to the old style;

    But even the half page filler art looks so different. Its cleaner, dynamic...I really like it

    There are a few things I don't like in the artwork.
    Shuriken Weapons discharge their ammunition via Electromagnetic Induction.
    Yet the ones in the book constantly have explosive flashes emanating from the barrels.
    Plus, there is a paragraph on p16 detailing why Harlequins do not have Spirit Stones, and this is ably illustrated with a smashing piece of artwork featuring a sole Harlequin wearing a yellow Spirit Stone.

    Might just be a non-spirit stone crystal. They've all got crystals.

    I dunno, the leviathan background books are really really nice and also have a similar glut of new art

    I've been impressed in general with the art in the more recent books the past year and those pieces are absolutely stunning I agree!

    I think the Horus Heresy Betrayal is my favorite book - but it's a Forgeworld so I'm not sure if you count it. This Harly book is pretty amazing as well though.
