40K Bloodthirster Rules (all 3 versions)
Everyone crack open your German to English dictionaries!

via one of gary's birds 3-19-2015

A Blood Host Detachment (the force organization chart in the codex) allows you to field two Bloodthirsters in your army. Also you get more as they can be summoned from the Blood Tithe.

The Blood Tithe is a special rule that allows you to gain Blood Tithe pts every time you kill or lose a unit.

Expending Blood Tithe pts gets you abilities which are on the 8 Blood God cards from the datacards set. The first one which is shown in the mag, is Infernal Contempt- which costs 1 Blood Tithe pt and grants all friendly units with the Blood from the Blood God special rule to gain Adamantium Will until the start of your next turn.

You can spend your points once a turn to summon some daemons or give abilities to your units

8 Points you will get a Bloodthirster for free.
via badtucker 3-19-2015

Got my white dwarf... so good , theres a boon of khorne rule for a formation called the slaughtercult - when you pay the tithe they give you two results from the table instead of one , then you pick what one you want.

You must use points correctly... so if you you gain 6 points and a herald costs 4 - you will loose your remaining points. no stacking...makes the 8 point bloodthirster harder to summon. 8 is the max points that can be held.

only the classic bloodthirster build (normal demon codex one or unfettered fury in this book) can be summoned by tithe rules.
demonic rewards are the normal codex demon rewards.
points are gained from unit deaths on both sides.... friend or foe, WD suggests you sacrifice your cultists appropriately no word on vehicles though...but id assume they count

seems bloodtithe is the codex wide rule... anything in that army or any formations etc have it. the slaughtercult seems to be its own detachment or formation. where they get a khone boon roll ( i think you can spend points on that) its a bit vague but it might be like the chaos boon table? just aimed at khorne insted!

yeah you can carry points over turn to turn but you can only amass a max of 8. if you spend them on something any remainder points are lost. start again next turn
read again... turns out the slaughtercult pays tithe points and can pic two results from the table ( presumably if they have the points for it) insted of one result
everything in chaos marine codex is in this pretty much, acording to the WD (mentions helldrakes and so on...) .... only things that wont will be sorcerors, other cults and characters.

My mate brought over the new codex last night, and this is what I was impressed by.

Similar to the Necron Decurion, the Daemonkin Blood Host Detachment that consists of unique formations from this book.

Every turn players can spend 'Blood Tithe' points to get free Daemon Princes, +1 attacks, Feel No Pain, a Bloodthirster, etc.

Codex Daemonkin are Battle Brothers with Chaos Daemons, and Chaos Space Marines, and Allies of Convenience with Necrons and Orks!

Rules for all three new bloodthirsters are in this book.

Some Daemons saw a drop in points, and various squads are fielded in "eights".

The Lord of Skulls is available as a Lord of War choice, and it's profile appears unchanged.

Juggernauts are back as equipment.

Daemons included in this book are not subject to instability, and instead are fearless.

There is a axe of that when it's user dies in battle, a Bloodthirster appears for free.

Another piece of wargear makes psykers take perils on doubles within 24" of the bearer.
Rules are brought to you via Anonymous Berzerker (who has glimsped the Brazen Codex itself):

ARMY RULES

Blood For the Blood God:

Blood Tithe Points are generated each time the following occurs:

- A unit with Blood for the Blood God is completely destroyed, or destroys and enemy unit.

- A character with Blood for the Blood God is killed, or kills an enemy character in a challenge.

Maximum number of points is 8, and are spent for rewards off the table below at the start of the Daemonkin player turn. Blood Tithe Points may be rebuilt up to the maximum during the battle.

Blood Tithe Chart:

1: Infernal Contempt: Friendly units with Blood for the Blood God have Adamantium Will this turn.

2: Insatiable Bloodlust: Friendly units with Blood for the Blood God have Furious Charge, Rage this turn.

3: Unstoppable Ferocity: Friendly units with Blood for the Blood God have Feel No Pain this turn.

4: Apocalyptic Fury: Friendly units with Blood for the Blood God have +1A this turn.

5: Daemontide: 5 Fleshhounds or 8 Bloodletters are summoned within 12" of any friendly Blood for the Blood God unit.

6: Harbingers of Blood and Brass: 1 Skullcannon or 3 Bloodcrushers are summoned within 12" of any friendly Blood for the Blood God unit.

7: Dark Apotheosis: Pick a non daemon friendly character with Blood for the Blood God and make a Ld test.

- passed: replace model with DAemon Prince w/ Warpforged armor, retaining all artefacts & Warlord trait (if model was Warlord).

- failed: replace model with spawn

8: Fury Unbound: Pick a non daemon friendly character with Blood for the Blood God and make a Ld test.

- passed: replace model with Bloodthirster of Unfettered Fury, retaining Warlord trait (if model was Warlord).

- failed: model is killed

Khorne Daemon:

Daemon, Furoius Charge, Hatred (daemons of Slaanesh)Chariots have S:7 Hammer of Wrath hits.

Mark of Khorne:

Rage, Counter-attack

Skulls for the Skull Throne:

Must always issue and accept challenges if possible. You may choose the order if multiple models have the option to challenge.

WARLORD TRAITS

1 - Warlord and friendlies within 12" with the Blood for the Blood God rules reroll failed charges.

2 - Warlord has Zealot

3 - Warlord has +1A

Interesting!

Wonder if we'll see new models?

Either way, Codex and cards are a must have. They always are for me.

They forgot about the 50 Infantry "Kerfuffle" case.

I wonder what "Blood for the Blood God cards" are?

Also, do we really need new books to let people combine CSM and Daemons?

Eh... People want new books, not just one awesome book with all kinds of options, so if the crowd wants to spend a few hundred dollars on rules for Chaos, guess they're just getting what they want.

Like Harlequins, this seems to be both expansion for existing armies, and a new army in it's own right.

Seems they pulled it off well with Harlequins (can definitely perform on it's own), this one we'll have to wait and see.

For the Blood cards, maybe as time goes on (game turns progress, etc.) this army gets attack bonuses or something. Of course, if that's the case, you can almost guarantee that we have to charge/run toward the nearest enemy unit. YOU KNOW THEY'D DO THAT TO US!

So instead of giving Chaos players what they have wanted since Chaos was "a thing" - Legion Rules - they're foisting this on Chaos players?

I really had hardened my heart to the wails of Chaos players grieving, but this is a blatant cash grab by GW and its pretty sad.
I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: "O Lord make my enemies ridiculous." And God granted it. --Voltaire

They are going increasingly for fluffy rules over competitive control considerations, so you might well be right.

Could also be something you hold as a hand of cards, and play when you achieve something in particular to bag a bonus?

I think they might remove cult marines from the CSM book and have them in these ones instead, so the nurgle one would have plague marines, tzeentch one thousand sons and slaanesh one noise marines - and they'll keep the CSM book more for all of the undivided stuff. Shame it probably won't have new Berzerkers though, would be a bit of a missed opportunity there.

If they are smart they could do these in 2-week releases, with 1 week having a greater daemon and the 2nd having the cult marines and codex.
