Oh yeah, that perk has added so much stuff to my stash! A lot of materials I couldn't find are coming from all the guns I'd been breaking down for just wood and steel before. Huge boost. Worth getting both ranks, definitely.

It's not so bad when it's different settlements and all, but in under a week's time Mr. Abernathy has managed to have his wife *and* his daughter kidnapped, and I'm pretty sure there was an earlier kidnapping there. Since there's an offer to give him the caps to pay the ransom (since he's "too poor"), I've become convinced it's a scam he's running where one of the women in his family is "kidnapped" and he tries to convince someone (i.e. me) to pay the ransom, and he gets a nice cut of that.

Check your workbench if you get low. In Sanctuary Hills (where I did set up one or two pieces, so that might have something to do with it), I can get another 10-12 artillery markers every time I go back to town and check that (plus 10 flares). I think I have a hefty collection of them by now.

yeah I know, I have plenty. it is one of those things where realistically I probably wont remember to ever use them, especially as I can't find any way to show on the map what the coverage is, so if I don't know, I wont bother throwing a marker.

In my game I've gotten up to over 50 hours in. I think I'm mostly through the main story, but it's hard to tell. Been going around helping out all over the place. I have a lot of settlements, and keeping them all in good shape isn't easy. Some of the trickier ones include an old Raider camp in the middle of town, or, worse, the Croup Manor, which doesn't have room to really build around the house, and the house itself is wrecked, so anyone who comes there won't really have shelter (two people apparently wandered in, but can't find them to link one to Sanctuary Hills so I can actually build anything).

So far the repeatable quest givers I've found are Garvey (who always seems to have a pair of missions at any given time), the two Brotherhood folks in Cambridge Police Station (one gives quest to get a piece of tech, the other quests to clear locations), and the technical guy on the Prydwen (I think... he offers to let you go on patrols, which I assume are infinite quests). It's a nice way to build up XP, but can be maddening if you're a completionist, so for now I've set aside most of them until I'm closer to done with the main story.

Synth Brahmin... hmm. Now I'm paranoid about all the brahmin I see in camps where I didn't buy them or put in a trough.

With Charisma, maxing it out *does* make a difference at points in the game. I've talked people into standing down, turning themselves in, giving me more money, all kinds of things. And it was totally worth it to "pacify" a freaking Glowing Deathclaw. (Note: If you get the "incite" rank of the pacify perks, you might keep a Raider from attacking you, but not from attacking the person you're trying to escort out of an area.)

Granted, my shooting is messy because of not many points in Agility, but to make up for that, I've maxed out my perks for modifying weapons and armor. Sometimes it's hard to actually hit a target (especially if they're fast), but I have weapons that can just lay out a Raider or a Ghoul in one shot (rifles, mind you... the shotgun's even nastier). I have an auto-laspistol that just wrecks things, but I have to get close because I apparently can't aim worth squat (like the character can actually miss even if you target correctly).

I'm doing more with bases now. Not as impressive as some folks, but that'll come once I'm done dealing with the Brotherhood-Institute-etc. mess. For now, I feel pretty good. I have a nice u-shaped courtyard at the Drive-In with booths lined up to but from and tables with chairs in the middle. At Sanctuary Hills I've adjusted a lot... Merged the buildings with my settlers' beds so it's just one three story metal building with beds upstairs and seating downstairs (metal buildings are a PITA to build right). Small bunker for my power armour and workshop; armour downstairs, all the crafting areas upstairs along with a bench and a table to relax and talk to someone. Rec room's now got pool table, dining table, seating, and a corner with a disco ball and jukebox (and seems to be where a lot of settlers spend their down time). My "house" has a pair of beds and dressers, desk with chair, and even a couch with a TV. And both main paths into the place have layers of turrets. Next step is getting the caps to put together bigger shops and building a proper marketplace. Sadly, a lot of space is also being taken up by a building that's story-related (which made it awkward showing a friend around the area, because explaining it would be a bit of a spoiler).

I am having a blast so far and I'm not sure when I'll be done with this playthrough, but I'm sure a second one with a different type of character will be tons of fun as well. And I still haven't see what the modding community will do, or the DLC Bethesda is planning.

Yeah, that's why I have a bunch of them. I'm trying to build more artillery, but you have to assign someone to them. And then there's the problem that the marker takes your grenade slot (I just ended up using my "favorites" for different types of grenades to get around that).

    Talking about artillery?

    Can't verify the accuracy.

hmm, that is roughly what I expected. I placed mine in three locations so far based on roughly that radius

I've called in strikes in the zone covered by Jamaica Plain without having artillery there, Although I have one Oberland, one at hangmans, and two at castle, so how far south or south west they cover idk.

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!
