I only have one point in that so far, been upping my charisma, intelligence etc. to get science, gun nut, and the leader perk for my settlement

They're cobbled together from second hand junk in the wasteland, bolted to an original weapon

I went gunslinger x2, the rifle equivalent x3, intelligence up to 6, sneak x3, armourer/gun nut x2, science 1, and now working on charisma to get the leader perks and open shops

I am nowhere near that far, only around ten hours. level 11 I think

I've only been exploring, not questing, certainly not on the main story line. I'm level 21 I think, and that's from wandering, crafting(cooking) and building.

I am doing the side quests like clearing out settlements. always on the hunt for copper too

Fuses, lamps, telephones and power conduits are good sources for it. Lightbulbs too.

I've been leveling without to many perks into the building buying stuff. At level 24 now and starting to put points into them. So far I've been melee'ing my way across the wastes. I have enough fusion cores now that in any combat situation I'm rolling with my brotherhood powerarmour. Still haven't finished the main quest line (Veridium wastes is the step?). Think my settlement is bugged for happiness though. Was down to 65 from 80 the previous night. No real changes. Fast traveled there and immediately started going up. Tried leaving town before fast travel, nothing.
