This is quite an important step, as Kickstarter and other Crowd Funding platforms are so new, regulation has inevitably lagged behind.
I know in the UK the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have been consulting on it, with a view to ensuring investors aren't at the mercy of those being funded.

I know it's awfully square and perhaps a little gauche, but as financial complaints are my bread and butter, I like to share them to ensure consumers are forewarned and forearmed - though I cannot give anyone any advice (as that's not my role, and I really don't fancy anyone getting litigious against me!)
