A hyper-shaded Sauron takes flight.... (Counts as Cronos with Energy drain)

and the scorpion leaps into action! Counts as something with an agoniser.

Ursa Major of the Soviet Super Soldiers officially joins the Grotesquerie... He actually looks a lot better with paint than the original metal/plastic/putty hybrid!

Those rocket launchers are proper cool looking.

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!

Thanks mate! Modernized some old GW Nippon rocket launchers from when I was still a beardling!

Thanos is almost ready to lead the grotesquerie into battle! 2 weeks until the event and I'm scrambling to finish the last bits of the army.

Had to make some last minute alterations to the waist/groin after I base coated him. All to often I find myself making some final adjustments once I start painting. Can't always tell where 'problem' areas are going to be until the first layer of color hits the model!

    Original

Also started tinkering with a Mister Hyde model.

Just have to give him a full head of hair!

So many villains... so little time!

I think I saw something similar in an episode of Sharpe once.
Now you just need the wizard with submachine gun model they made...

    Sounds awesome!

    Still adding to the grotesquerie...

Mr Hyde is ready for paint

The black Dwarf arrives (Still WIP)

Apocalypse is proving to be a tough nut to crack... just cannot find legs for this bloke!

Still plodding forward! Mr Mojo Risin is ready for paint! He was quite a bit of free sculpting and kit raiding. His mechanical legs are shaved down Hormagaunt claws. Front arms are Necron with Doc Ock type pinchers built from leftover Wraithguard parts.

Apocalypse is still coming along... Since I have to scratch build the legs I'm going to try and model him in a Super hero landing type pose... God knows how this will turn out!

Vehicles are crewed by Hydra Agents. Going to field a few Venoms converted from Vyper models and 1-2 old school Raiders.

    Happy hobbying!

Apocalypse Mark 1 finally hits the 90% mark!

I couldn't decide on the left arm so I did what any good indecisive modeler would do and magnetized it!

and Mojo officially joins the Grotesquerie

Hello all! After playing for over 2 decades I've developed an interest in assembling unusual looking armies. Coming off the Marvel Villains themed army I'm starting to tinker with Harlequins as one of the 2016-2017 projects. First thing I found is Harlies are thin and fiddly to cut up and reassemble! Never one to be put off by small matters we'll see where this project goes over the coming months.

The first thing I learned was you might as well cut the feet free then see where the pose takes you. There are multiple attachment points besides the ones premodeled.

Here is a first pass at a few Troupe members.

I really like the back flipping "I just want a hug" pose for some reason

    A different back flipping effort

Using the caress can also give you some unusual connection points:

I'm thinking of painting them old school where each model is different... stay tuned for more madness!

    Few more converted/kitbashed Harlies...

    Troupe leaders

I love connecting the base to the flowing sashes on these models!

    Jesters

The one on the left required a lot of cutting and positioning plus some sculpted parts. The other one is hanging out on an old 90mm Metal promo Marine head I had laying about.

Solitaire and Spiritseer Mk I... mainly just cut these free and reposed them on their bases although the spiritseer nicked a new hand from Eldrad's kit.

    The Troupe transport!

Wanted these to look different from Voidweavers so I'm converting Venoms with spare Shuriken Cannons and Harlie heads.

Going to start chopping on the Jetbikes next.

    Cheers!
