Arrow New Patreon - Painting Buddha - Helping us be better painters!

Painting Buddha puts out the best painting tutorials out there and they're some of the nicest guys in the hobby. Three time slayer sword winner Ben Komets and Michael Bartels are now producing their content on youtube but in order to continue to do it they need our support via patreon. These are people who love the hobby as much as we do and some of the nicest you'll meet.

They put a ton of time, effort and money into creating their content and want to be able to sustain it and make more. They plan on releasing between 1 and 2 video series a month like their recent Age of Sigmar Stormcast Eternal painting tutorial FOUND HERE. It was well over 3 hours of content broken into 8 separate videos.

Their second set of tutorials that are coming out at the moment is the Khorgus Khul chaos figure HERE and it's supposed to be even larger than the Stormcast Eternal series!

The skills they show can be applied to painters of all skill levels and they will be producing a series geared toward newer painters who are learning taking from the basics to advanced blending and all in between.

They break down the technique on film while explaining the reasons behind it all. The palette cam shows the paint consistency and an off camera person asks questions to clarify what is going on. They have great banter and keep it entertaining while conveying the information. They've shown Non-metallic metals, true metallic metals, leather, skin, cloth, weathering, basing for gaming as well as display basing, hair, fur, bone just off the top of my head. Usually each video covers 1 or 2 topics in depth at least.

    How the Patreon Works

You get all the tutorial content for free no matter how much you pledge or even if you don't pledge!

Since they release 10-20 videos a month and they don't want people to be afraid of being overcharged, they ask their pledgers to pledge how much you would be willing to pay per video and then set your monthly limit. For instance, $3 per video and setting your limit that you will pay up to 9 dollars per month means if they produce 12 videos you will pay $3 for each video for the first three videos and hit your $9 max for the month and then won't be charged for the remaining 9 videos they produce. You still will get every video and content/rewards you pledge for.

Many of us have paid a lot more for hobby tutorials or classes. They are just looking for enough people to help pay what they think they can afford and if you can't, they just say to "SHARE and ENJOY" their tutorials. Hopefully a bunch of us can all find a way to help them by pledging or sharing!

Their painting tutorials have changed how I paint. I didn't think I could paint to the level I always wanted to. They motivate me to paint more and they've created a community that is as amazing as the tutorials they produce. This is the first piece I've painted from their tutorials and it's one of the few pieces I'm proud of that I've done.

I stumbled across one of their videos over the weekend, and I really like their approach to doing a tutorial. I will definitely give this a look.

They again are looking for more patreon support. Please take a look and consider throwing a dollar or two. Their stuff is better produced and more instructive than $50 DVDs that are only a few hours long. These guys give so much more away for free!
