Default Airbrush advice please :)

    How do?

So seeing as my new flat is going to have a gaming room, I'm tempted to invest in an airbrush.

Trouble is, I have all the artistic skill of a handless chimp, and don't know my arse from my elbow when it comes to getting a decent piece of kit.

I dunno what the options are, but I doubt I'll need anything too fancy - I'm hoping to use it to speed up the painting of large models, rather than doing clever effects and blending and that.

    Anyone got any advice?

This is a great place to start in my opinion:

    http://m.ebay.com/itm/2-3-5-Gravity-Dual-Action-AIRBRUSH-KIT-Tank-Air-Compressor-Hobby-Cake-Tattoo-/381382387462?nav=SEARCH

It has a pretty nice compressor with a tank which is handy. It's also a fairly quiet compressor so it shouldn't annoy a significant other. The airbrush that comes with is mediocre, but it is dual action which is the best way to go in case you do figure your arse from your elbow at some point. The dual action gives you the best control, but will also just be a workhorse to get models base coated quickly. And when you get better and more confident then you can upgrade your airbrush to get fancier.

I'd really recommend getting an airbrush for your painting. It really revolutionized my painting and is such a huge time saver.

    Hope that helps!

No idea about this particular seller but this is a good starter model for airbrushing.

This is what I started with and I still use the compressor, you want one with a tank because otherwise you'll be running the compressor constantly and the noise will drive you mad.

The brushes you get are basic, I'd throw the cup feed one away because you'll never use it. BUt if you're basecoating models, especially tanks, you can still save a lot of time and do neat but very simple things like zenithal lighting.

Other than that, premixed airbrush paint is a real time saver, its worth the extra cost just to save the hassle of mixing up paint. Vallejo Airbrush cleaner is the best, get some of that and run a couple of mls through after you're done and it'll keep your brush happy.

Search for that thread deadlift did, seemed to cover a lot.

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!
