Is there more Formations to the Dawn Blade Detachment? As the pics of what Formations are allowed dont have the 3 Ghostkeel formation or the Etherial one. Are those simply added to the main codex detachment, are they just random and can only be used in a Battleforged army, or what?

I like it. I was wrong about Infantry Platoons, but Sentinels and Field Artillery got a needed boost.

Some of those IG formations have some serious punch! (potential for Ignores cover! on Basilisks and Medusas!!) On the other hand, they also have a large investment cost for the most part, and some inherent unpredictability with the use of orders and similar. Also, they remembered the fluff about Cadians being sharpshooters! Quite pleased with that overall. Only thing that is missing is any sort of mechanised infantry as a core.

A whiteshield formation would also be cool.

yeah as a person who has painted 60 conscripts I am a little bummed theres nothing cool for em, but theyre already kind of one of the niftiest tricks in the bag. good news is ill need all of those conscripts for a little re-unit-ing for those masive 50 man mandatory sqauds. sheesh

I guess there is nothing stopping you from using them as part of the Emperor's Shield infantry platoons, and gaining re-rolls of 1's to hit and some extra order potential just for being part of the formations. Kinda funny that they remain Bs 2, but as part of the overall Cadian detachment, they get the sharpshooters skill...

ETRC and EFAC combo well, especially against OSCs and FBSCs. Infantry in Guard just got quaint.

Too many acronyms... what do they mean?

    FBSC: Firebase Support Cadre

They work well together against those 2 Formations because they can take a lot of heat and keep on coming, can drop a lot of Ignores Cover, and can root out hiding Squads, like Broadsides or Pathfinders.
