Yea I was actually suprised how easy it was to make look decent. It is amazing what can be done with some clippers a file and some greenstuff.
Right now I'm working on my second ten man squad... Once I put the gold all the way on I'll be ready to hit the whole thing with some gryphon sepia.
Also, I pick up my two Baal preds today, so lots of assembeling to do... And also have to decide if I like the flamestorm or the assaut cannon better.
Can't wait to see the next squad
As for the Flamestorm or the assault cannon, could you magnetize them?
So I picked up my preds last night, sadly I was informed that they were in by one of the worst texts a guy could recieved from a friend, "dude, I have you balls." the sad thing is that my junk was in his trunk. Anyhow, I will likely magnatize the weps and turrets, though I don't think it is worth it to put sponsons on the flestorm version.

ps: pics coming this afternoon of my next wip squad... Have to charge camera first!
Quick update: tried to take some pics tonight but my camera was bein stupid... All my pictures were blurry, mostly due to reflected light... Anyone have a good picture tutorial? I'll tak some tomorrow when I have better daylight.

My camera has a "close up" setting which allows you to take nice pics of small stuff, but you still have to be at least 28 inches away. I would suggest getting about 2 to 3 feet away from the models and use the zoom rather than trying to be up close to the figures if you have a regular setting but no close up setting that allows you to be closer.
Also, for lighting, if you have a work lamp, aim it at the highlight side of the model (CFLs are better if you have one to put in it).
I'm not a pro at it, but this gives me decent results.

The things your talking about are pretty much what I do. I think it is the new "Ott LIght" that I bought. My camera has a close up setting that I usually use but last night it wasn't giving me anything worth posting. Ill try again in a few minutes.

Ok, so here is a decent picture... Took me a while but it looks good enough to post.
Things still to do:
- Highlights on all colours
- Gem work
- Eye work
- scroll work (White) on the armour
- scroll work (black) on Purity seals
- touch ups
- bases
- Misc stuff.
Here it is. C and C always welcome. Also, Im still deciding what to do after this squad option are
- Sanguinor
- another 5 man squad
- Baal Preds (2)
- Las cannon/ Autocannon Preds
- Vindicator
Im taking votes as always

Hmm... I think you should paint up some vehicles next.
The squad looks fantastic, love the sergeant double winged shoulder pads are sick.
"STUPIDITY, If your going to do it, go for GOLD!"
I think your right... I'm getting a little tired of troops. I just assembled a Baal pred and I think I will do that.
I agree that those pads look cool. At first o was a little worried that it would be too much bling but then I thought "they are blood angels! Bling is the name of the game."
I'm thinking of usig the masters of the chapter models for my honour guard, only thing is they aren't wearing helms so no gold-pimp-hats.
