My Tyranid Harpy WIP

Hi all,
here are pictures of my Tyranid Harpy WIP. I know it is only a carnifex with Balrog wings, but I think he is turning out quite menacing

I like this a lot, first Harpy I've seen that really seems proper, if you know what I mean?
Reckon it'd probably look good with a small head crest like the other fliers, but a very nice model nonetheless!

Unlike my other conversions (flying Warriors and Tyrant), I even kept to the unspoken 'rule' of Tyranids having six limbs - it might be hard to see, but the Balrog wings come from the bottom arm sockets

Oh, because a Harpy isn't supposed to be that good at hand to hand combat as lets say a Tyrant (better at shooting), I've represented this with using the small Mawloc arms for the scything talons instead of the usual monstrous creature or Carnifex ones...

I'm going to try it out today in a 2250 Apocalypse game - 2 objectives, limit of 1 super heavy/gargantuan creature (my Trygon is one) against Black Templars (I think)

Looks nice mate , smaller than mine which will be good as it tends to get shot alot no matter what cover i put it behind .

The plan is to put it a bit above the building with thick wire and use the building as the base

I have now filled in all the gaps with modeling putty AND added a head crest to make it look more like a flyer too
