That is epic and should be the opening scene of Episode VIII. Seriously, what is wrong with Mara Jade being canon? She is awesome and a good foil for the "all powerful jedi" (okay, stop laughing).

Interesting.....and almost certainly not actually news, but something I've missed to date....
Admiral Ackbar is the only non-droid character to have played a role in the three ages of Star Wars we've so far seen.

you forgot a certain tall hairy figure... they crammed Chewie into RotS (he's the one giving Yoda his sendoff from Kashyyk iirc).

I wonder if Lucas ever bothered to re-watch his own movies at any time to avoid these contradictions? You can get away with the droids not remembering things because their minds can be wiped. It gets weirder when you have things like a guy who fought alongside Jedi saying nothing as they're called fake, or raising a guy's son on the same moisture farm his mother was buried at, or having the Organas surprisingly have a new baby daughter at the same time Anakin's kid(s) would have been born... It's like that 18 year gap was filled with the MIB running around flashing Anakin, Palpatine, the droids, Chewie, and everyone else.
