"Cheap enough" is synonymous with "affordable enough to be a reasonable risk."

Also, I stopped paying goofy prices for figures, especially when I realized it was becoming the norm, not the cost for standout models that would be the centerpiece of an army. I have paid silly prices for a couple AoS books, because I wanted to try to sort out the fluff (it actually made things worse for me), and in relation to that, this book is certainly more affordable, and thus "worth it."

It's like people think any use of the word "cheap/cheaply/cheaper" has to be some kind of negative indictment of the product being discussed.

I doubt I'll buy more models, because I've got a ton waiting to be worked on, and I'm not that interested in most of the new releases. I'd have to modify almost all of them to make them usable, and I don't feel like paying a lot for something I have to fix. It'd be like paying $50,000 for a Civic that needs the engine and brakes completely replaced. Only ones I might be tempted by are the box of 20 Khorne loonies for $60, that's reasonable. And the "Getting Started" box, because I have almost no Chaos Warriors. (Plenty of everything else Chaos related, though.)

I may get this book myself if it has a decent chunk of backround in it. £20 is a good price, I used to buy all the codex books too when they were around £12-£15 as well.
Please support a Poor starving musician and buy my new album for only £5 :

It should set out the place each occupies in the Mortal Realms at the very least.

I am not saying it that it's negative, but I have been seen a lot of people use the word "cheap" and when they talk about GW I swear they want to buy stuff in the dollar store prices. Some people act like you are either an idiot of paying high prices because it's not cheap or other people would say, if it's too expensive and not cheap enough for you maybe you need to go into another hobby. And then people start arguing over who's opinion is correct.

What I am trying to say is instead of using the word "cheap" or "expensive" use the word "worth" and someone's opinion is explains so much better. Spending $100 can be to expensive for one person but oh so worth it for someone else. Does that make sense? I am not good with words when I try to explain something, especially when I am tired and half asleep. :P

*edit* An example for me could be the video game Civilization:Beyond Earth. I don't find the price of $50 worth it. Now the game is $40, and also if you go to Humble Bundle, you can get the game for $15 I think now. (as of me typing). I still won't get the game because I don't think it's "worth" it. I am waiting for the complete edition and then I will see if it's "worth" it. Just like with Civ 5, I didn't buy it because I found it not worth paying $50 for a very buggy, boring bland game. After all the expansions and fixing up, then I found it worth it to buy and I am glad I did. I didn't buy it because it wasn't "cheap enough" because I would have paid $50 or more if the game wasn't buggy boring or bland apon release.

What is the most important rule? That we should do whatever the hell we want, but preferably in the best interests of Games workshop when possible? :P Ill go with that

Eh... that's semantics. "Cheap" and "expensive" are relative terms, and basically related to someone's approximation of an item's worth.

If I say Battlefront at full retail is too expensive for what it has (and a lot of people have), that means "The game is not worth the full retail price." I would think that's obvious? And when something is "cheap enough" that means "affordable enough" or, roughly, "worth the cost." All of which is kind of subjective, but eh, that's a whole other topic.

    £110?

Not too shabby. Decent mix of units, and a reasonably sized force. Bung in a Sorceror or two, maybe another box of Chaos Warriors and I'd be good to go.

$180 US... Chuck in a Getting Started box for $85, that's $265 for:

    Lord on Manticore
    Sorceror
    3 Chariots
    28 Warriors
    10 Knights
    10 Marauder Horsemen

Plus a couple battalion warscrolls if desired. Add in $33 book, about $300 has you set with a "Slaves to Darkness" force. Not inexpensive, but eh, it's a bit less than I spent on an Ogre Kingdoms army. (To be fair, that was over 3000 points of Ogres... though some were characters converted from a spare box of Bulls.)

Can't recall the book price in GBP, but even with that, it's probably 200ish total?

    With the book? £180.00

Not bad at all for a decent sized army.

Oh, right, I was doing my math wrong. Added 110 to 50 and got 180 somehow. Weird. Probably need more caffeine, maybe a nice cup of Earl Grey will get the neurons firing properly.
