I don't hate Vampire Counts. I do hate Hydras however.
But, last friday I killed a Hydra in one shot with a cannonball. So I hate them a little less now.
Also, Grimgor beats down Vamp Lords in challenges.
Also, I cheat.

Ah don't worry about VC for too long...I'll start a VC army and before I'm done with it something will come down in the form of a new army book or a FAQ ruling that will neft the army considerably. That's what happened when I decided to pick up WoC.
I have the sneaking suspicion that GW just doesn't want me to have a top-tier army.

I own a vampire army - it has skelitons and gouls up the rear. O.o; With black and blood knights as well and all my vampires has an raise dead spell (using a scroll that allows that ^^) so my army keeps quite strong and I flank and rear charge people and well own. Only army I have a hard time out flanking is a tomb king army. -. - But the blood knights really own that fast for me so I don't really worry.

I also own an army of the Vampire Counts, which is a little lacking in summonable nasties, but is quite wraith heavy usually. i havent tried my unit of 8 out against an empire gunline yet though.
as for Hydras, well. Hydra flames 9 of my 10 swordmasters and charges my archmage on dragon. between both handlers and half hydra attacks, no wounds on the already wounded mage. dragon then takes 3 wounds off the hydra and it legs it. not so tough

I don't hate vampire counts per say, i hate blood knights
