Default Hive Fleet Xiangliu - a Tyranid Log

    Hey all!

I'm just now getting back into 40K after almost a decade's hiatus. These are the first models I've painted in a long time, and I hope I'm getting back into the swing of things okay.

Any criticism is greatly appreciated - I'm familiar with most of the lingo, but I'm really out of practice and I've forgotten a lot. I'm feeling okay about these models, but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement.

    PAINTED/BASED/COMPLETE

    2 Gargoyles

    PAINTED

    1 Carnifex
1 Termagant (first model I painted - chitin is meh. Probably going to strip/repaint)

    WiP

    1 Tervigon
    8 Gargoyles

    UNPAINTED

    38 Termagants
    40 Hormagaunts

    MISC

various rippers - I'm meh on them ruleswise, so I'm using them as base decoration for MCs
3 Warriors - going to kitbash with the zoanthrope kit to make venomthropes

    TO BUY:

    START COLLECTING! TYRANIDS
    1 Zoanthrope box
    1 Harpy/Crone box
    1 Haruspex

nb: for some reason, the image resizer mirrored all the pics. The Carnifex is called Xinui (Rhino) and the Tervigon is Guaifu (Frightening Old Woman).

I've been busy! I've painted 30 Termagants, and a tester Hormagaunt. The termis are a bit rough, but they look decent at a distance. This painting is coming back to me. The hormi is a lot cleaner than the termis, and I hope the rest of the stuff can look that good going forth. There's still a lot of room to improve, but I'm happy with the result.

looking good to me. with a big swarm army like nids I often think they need to look good in groups, and worry less about getting each gaunt perfect. your group shot looks great, so I would call that a win.
Twelve monkeys, eleven hats. One monkey is sad.
