Flora and Fauna of the Eight Realms - a fan project proposition

How do?

I'll cut to the chase on this one. I've got Monstrous Arcanum. I've got Tamurkhan. I've got Storm of Magic, and boy, have I got ideas.

AoS has offered us a lot of stuff to play with, and a lot of room to play in. Currently, the Eight Realms are largely a mystery.

If like me you're keeping up with the various novels and assorted stories, you'll be keenly aware that the Eight Realms haven't been described or documented in any great detail, at least, not yet.

So what I want to do is put together a loose idea of what sort of classical beasties might exist in each of the Realms, and where there aren't currently rules for them, come up with some Warscrolls.

No master plan behind this, and no intention for it to be definitive. Just a mad little fan project that people might wish to adopt when selecting their armies or designing scenarios set in specific realms.

Example? Incarnate Elemental of Beasts. Because I've got one. Well, I can see that definitely occurring in Ghur, and easily in Ghyran, both being lifey types realms (and indeed, Ghur being the Realm of Beasts). In Shyish, Realm of Death? Perhaps not so much. So it's Warscroll could be chosen if playing in Ghur and Ghyran, but not in Shyish, as the magic needed to sustain it just doesn't blow as strongly there.

Next up for example? Fimir. Definitely exist in Ulgu, if you ask me, what with all their Mist Magic and that, but they'd have a tough time setting up home in Hyish, given Light Magic tends to irk Chaotic beasts somewhat.

So hopefully I've given you an idea, and planted some seeds.

Let me know if you're interested in contributing. And if anyone is a budding writer (I'm terrible at creative writing) feel free to do a sort of 'travel journal' entry to describe the beasts and their home
