Tau Sky Ray Model question

The Sky Ray missile rack has what looks like two small drones on the outboard tips. Are they supposed to be detachable? And if so, what are they? Is there a game reason one would want these to be detachable?

The Sky Ray has two gun drones and no more, pre Codex; those are, to me, the normal sized drones that come off the front "winglets." I'm confused as to what the two little "drones" are for.

I was suspecting that they are the marker lights.

I asked as I bought a partially completed Sky Ray and one was glued on and one wasn't.
