Think I've seen most of those. Definitely Creep, Severance and Black Death (even if Black Death is confused in my mind with that bloody awful Nic Cage witch film...the perils of watching both back to back whilst somewhat tiddled on Harvey's, a most excellent beer)

They're all worth a watch. I think 'Black Death' is probably his best work thematically, but 'Creep' has amazing tension, and 'Triangle' is Groundhog Day played for pure cosmic terror.

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade works for Arbites - weirdly fascist, snappy uniforms, violent, depressing.

WXII: Patlabor the Movie 3 has a very arbite vs genestealer vibe to it:

    Sprigan for OTT Inquisitorial action:

I mean it's got ancient artifacts of unfathomable power, cyborgs with minigun arms, psychic powers, random French guy.

And of course Akira for street level shenanigans.

I dunno. There's that moment in Creep that nearly prevents me watching it further.

    You know the one.

    I mean....just....arrrrrrggh! And I don't even have lady parts....

    It is horrifying, yes.

And 'Jin-Roh' is an excellent choice.

It's camp! It's silly! It's an Italian Exploitation Movie! And yes I've seen it. And its sequel. And a loose second sequel, which is utterly terrible. In fact, they're all utterly terrible!

I've used Hellraiser as an example of Dark Eldar culture before, because so many miss that for all the tortures they inflict on their captives, they do an awful lot to themselves too, for much the same reasons. (Seriously, their implausibly-attached shoulder guards are fixed into their flesh with fishing hooks. Is it any wonder Slaanesh wants to claim them all?)

Given my low tolerance for horror movies though there is no way I'm touching Martyr.

Why watch that, when there's 'The Warriors', which it's obviously ripping off, and which is actually really good, because it's by Walter Hill. His whole idea was to retell The Odyssey in what was then the modern era, and my goodness does he succeed. Yes, it's unrealistic, and yes, it's dated as hell, but it just drips atmosphere, and is tautly plotted.

Not to mention, it's so beloved by Rockstar that they made a game of it twenty years after the film came out.

'Hellraiser' was just too obvious a choice though, and also not very good. And I day that who has seen the 'Hellraiser' films literally over a hundred times (102 times at the last count). Visually wonderful, but the stories are just terrible.

Ahhh Satrship Troopers if only they'd made the film like the book what a wasted opportunity (it's defo Guard v Nids though).

I always liked Enemy at the Gates for guard senseless casualties and murderous Comissars all over the shop. And I quite like how the goodies (Russians) all have English accents and the baddies (Germans) have Amrerican ones. Probably a touch obvious though.

When you list Point Break I take it you refer to the excellent original not the god awful remake we've recently been forced to endure?
